Transfer of Passenger Details
As required by American law, and in accordance with the agreement between the European Union and the United States, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will receive certain travel and booking information (PNR: passenger name record) about passengers travelling between the European Union and the United States of America.
The DHS is obliged to use this information primarily for the purpose of fighting terrorism and preventing serious international crime. This information may be compared with other data in passenger lists that may give cause for concern with regard to aviation safety.
PNR details will be stored for a minimum of three years and six months, and may be passed on to other authorities.
