FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to take out travel insurance?
Products with travel cancellation insurance (RRV) must be purchased no later than 30 days before the start of the trip. If there are fewer than 30 days between booking and the start of the trip, travel insurance should be taken out no later than the 3rd working day (Mon - Sat) after booking. Products without travel cancellation insurance can be purchased at any time before the trip begins. We therefore recommend taking out travel insurance directly when booking your trip.
Where can I book a travel cancellation insurance?
You can take out travel insurance directly when booking your flight. Alternatively, if you've already booked a flight, you can add the insurance here.
Can I still take out travel insurance after booking my flight?
Yes, you can add travel insurance up to 24 hours before your departure.
What does HanseMerkur travel insurance cover?
Travel insurance from Condor's partner HanseMerkur covers a wide range of situations. These include illness, flight cancellation, and baggage loss.
What is the deductible in the insurance?
Only in the case of outpatient illnesses is there a deductible of 20% (min. 25 €). And generally, there is no deductible for annual insurance policies.
Why isn't insurance on a credit card always enough?
They often offer limited services, high deductibles, and many exclusions. For instance, with at-risk individuals or specific activities. Additionally, the protection often only applies if the trip has been fully paid for with a credit card. Here's a small checklist:
- Do you have to pay for the entire trip with a credit card?
- Is the family covered by the insurance?
- How high is the deductible?
- Does the travel health insurance cover a medically advisable repatriation or only a 'necessary repatriation'?
- Does travel protection also cover pandemics and travel warnings?
