Special baggage
Special baggage items do not count as normal baggage because they are larger, heavier or of a different nature than normal checked baggage.
Special baggage items do not count as normal baggage because they are larger, heavier or of a different nature than normal checked baggage.

Examples include sports equipment that does not meet the maximum size and weight for sports baggage, photographic and movie equipment, musical instruments, prams, pushchairs, wheelchairs or large electronic devices. Since these items sometimes require careful handling during transport, additional charges may apply.
The fees for oversize baggage depend on your booking, the destination and your fare and whether the flight is operated exclusively by Condor or also by other airlines. For flights with other airlines, the regulations for flights operated by other airlines apply.
Special baggage counts as one piece of baggage and is deducted from the checked baggage allowance applicable to your fare. If your normal baggage, including special baggage, exceeds the quantity or maximum weight applicable to your fare, excess baggage charges will apply for these additional items.
Please book special baggage by contacting our customer service (by WhatsApp or phone).
For your security, screening devices are used at German airports as recommended by the Federal Ministry of the Interior; these can damage photographic and film equipment. We therefore recommend carrying photo and film equipment in your carry-on baggage. This also applies to departures from North American airports.
Condor is helping to combat the unsustainable and illegal trade in wild animals. There are no exceptions when it comes to refusing to transport endangered and threatened species, hunting trophies or other products associated with illegal wildlife activities. We use trained personnel to ensure that all documents and transport containers are carefully checked.
Prams, pushchairs, buggies, cots, child carriers and car seats are carried in the hold at no additional charge. A maximum of two of these items can be taken per child.
You do not need to register these in advance. This excludes prams or pushchairs with special features, such as joggers, bicycle trailers or fold-up wagons.
Please note that not all airports can return prams and buggies stowed in the cargo hold directly at the passenger bridge. Alternatively, strollers can be rented at some airports. You can search which airport offers this service on the respective Airport's website.
Check out our information on travelling with children to ensure you are well prepared.
According to an EU regulation, infants under the age of 2 must be secured on board aircraft either by a loop belt or child seat.
Condor recommends the use of an approved car seat (maximum width 43 cm (16.9 in)) during the flight. If using a car seat, you must purchase a seat on the aircraft for the infant as a full-paying child (2 to 11 years).
To ensure that you sit together as a family, we recommend reserving seats for all travellers. Car seats are permitted in all window seats, with the exception of the emergency exit rows and the row in front of and behind the emergency exit row. If you are travelling with two infants, you can also book a window seat and a middle seat for the car seats.
Our crew reserves the right to refuse car seats that do not meet the requirements or if the assigned seat is not suitable for the use of a car seat. We will then stow the car seat in the aircraft hold for you free of charge.
In this case, infants must be secured by a harness or by holding them on the adult’s lap. We cannot refund the fare paid for the infant's seat.
The car seat must have one of the following certifications:
Items that are not suitable for carriage in the hold (e.g. delicate musical instruments) will only be accepted for carriage in the cabin if they have been registered with us and accepted by us in advance. This special baggage is subject to a charge.
Not all sports equipment is the same. Depending on the type of sports equipment and sport in question, we differentiate between which types of sports equipment require registration and which don't. If the piece of baggage exceeds the maximum weight of 30 kg (66.1 lb) and the maximum dimensions of length 200 cm × width 40 cm × height 100 cm (78.7 x 15.7 x 39.3 in) or length 300 cm × width 40 cm × height 60 cm (118.1 x 15.7 x 23.6 in), it cannot be transported.
For more information, you can visit the sports equipment page.
Christmas trees with a maximum height of 100 cm (3.2 ft) are carried free of charge. Excess baggage charges apply only to Christmas trees over 101 cm (3.3 ft). In addition, the tree must meet these criteria for carriage:
Please also note the local import regulations of your destination country.

We also recommend carrying valuables and important documents in your carry-on baggage.
