This ancient medical centre is found four kilometres southeast of Kos Town. It dates back to the beginning of the 3rd century BC and is named after Asklepios, the god of health and medicine. The ancient Odeon amphitheater was built by the Romans in the 2nd and the 3rd centuries. The remains were unearthed in the early 20th century and are in surprisingly good condition. It has since been fully restored with the ruins fully integrated into the new structure.
