Tarmac delay plan
In the unlikely event of an extended on-board delay prior to take-off or on landing at the destination or transfer airport, our Operations Control Centre will work with the pilot in charge, the local airport operations team and the airport authorities to ensure we meet our schedule. On-board delays are situations that Condor always tries to avoid. However, weather, space constraints, visibility, airport conditions, mechanical problems, air traffic control requirements or other circumstances beyond our control can sometimes lead to unavoidable delays on the ground.
The tarmac delay plan comes into effect 15 minutes after the cabin doors are closed for departure, or upon arrival if the delay exceeds the aircraft’s taxiing time limit at the relevant airport before the cabin doors are opened.
During a tarmac delay, the toilets on board remain usable. Necessary medical assistance will be arranged.
The delay is categorized as follows:
- Delay between 15 minutes and 1 hour 59 minutes
The cabin crew will make an announcement every 30 minutes with the reason for the delay, the estimated duration of the delay (if known) and other dynamic flight information as soon as it is available.
- Delay between 2 hours and 2 hours 59 minutes
In addition, adequate food and water must be provided if the aircraft remains on the tarmac, unless this is not possible for safety reasons as decided by the captain.
- Tarmac delay of 3 hours or more
If the tarmac delay is 3 hours or more and the departure time is not yet determined, Condor will arrange for disembarkation, unless safety regulations cannot be met.
