Which animals can be transported?

When it comes to the transportation of animals, we usually mean pets. In the vast majority of cases, travelers and holidaymakers will want to take a dog or cat with them. But passengers may wish to transport a rabbit, a guinea pig or other small animals. Condor has therefore made the following arrangement:

Animals in the cabin

The animal must remain in its closed transport box under the seat during the entire flight and be able to stand, lie down and turn as it would naturally.
The dimensions of the container (air-permeable, waterproof, lockable and in accordance with the IATA Live Animal Regulations) must not exceed the carry-on baggage dimensions of length 55 cm × width 40 cm × height 23 cm (21.6 x 15.7 x 9 in).
Please also note that only one animal is transported per carrier and the box including the animal may weigh a maximum of 8 kg (17.6 lb).
The transport box is in addition to the carry-on baggage allowance for the booked rate.
You can book pet transportation in the cabin up to 24 hours before departure.

Prices for transporting animals in the cabin

On flights with Condor, the following fees apply if you wish to take your animal with you in the cabin. Prices are based on your destination and flight route. If you change planes at an airport while traveling, you need to register your pet for both flights.

To find out the price in advance, simply add up the amounts for:

the first destination (e. g., Frankfurt as a transfer airport),
the final destination (e. g. New York)
as well as for the return flights.

For example, if you are flying from Palma de Mallorca via Frankfurt to New York, add up the corresponding prices.

Important: Prices apply only to Condor flights. If you fly a segment with one of our partner airlines, the fees of that airline apply.

Unfortunately, transporting animals in the cabin is not allowed.

Important information for transporting animals in the cabin

The transportation of unregistered animals cannot be guaranteed. We ask for your understanding that, in the interest of all passengers, we only allow a limited number of dogs and/or cats in the cabin. If you do not register that you are transporting animals in advance, the fee at the airport will be increased to (starting at) 120,00 €* per way (one-way).

For safety reasons, it is unfortunately not possible to transport animals on some seats:

* The exact amount of the fee depends on the specific flight route. The currency and amount of the airport prices are determined by the respective airport. Fees may apply from 120 EUR, 120 CHF, 120 GBP or 145 USD.

Animals in the cargo hold

We require the following information for transporting animals in the cargo hold:

Weight of the animal, including the animal carrier
The exact dimensions of the transport box
To transport dogs, we require details of the breed

The size of the pet box can be 55 cm (21.6 in) or 75 cm (29.5 in) wide. Pay attention to the prices according to the width or Dimensions of the transport box.

Please note that reservations for animal transportation in the cargo hold can only be made up to 48 hours before departure. In addition, this reservation can only be made for direct flights, as the transport box cannot be transferred to flights operated by other airlines.

By registering, you agree to comply with the Conditions of Carriage for Animals in the Cargo Hold.

Important information about transporting animals in the cargo hold

We cannot guarantee the carriage of unregistered animals. We are only allowed to carry a limited number of dogs or cats in the cargo hold. Please only use breathable, waterproof and escape-proof animal carriers that comply with the IATA Live Animals Regulations (maximum one animal per carrier).

If you do not register that you are transporting animals in advance, the pet transport fee at the airport increases to 140,00 €* or 215,00 €* (one-way), depending on the size of the transport box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there specific regulations for transporting animals on connecting flights with other airlines?

On connecting flights or feeders (e.g. with Lufthansa or Alaska Airlines), unfortunately, animals cannot be transported in the cargo hold.

Can I take my pets on board a Condor flight?

Yes, you are allowed to bring pets. There are just a few things you need to bear in mind.

Book a flight for you and your dog or cat online up to 24 hours in advance. You will then receive an email confirmation.
The number of animals in the cabin is limited.
Your pet must be kept in a crate during the flight. The crate must comply with IATA regulations and must not be larger than carry-on baggage.
Combined, the crate and animal must weigh no more than 8 kg. Animals that are heavier than this must be accommodated in the cargo hold.

Can I transport my pet in the cargo hold when flying with Condor?

Yes, you can transport your pet in the cargo hold. Please note the following points:

Book the transport of your pet in the cargo hold at least 48 hours before departure. You'll then receive a confirmation.
This booking is only possible for non-stop flights, as the animal carrier cannot be transferred on connecting flights.
For the registration, we need the weight of your animal including the animal carrier as well as the exact dimensions of the animal carrier.
For dogs, we also require the breed.
The animal container may be 55 cm or 75 cm wide. The price depends on the size of the transport box.
By registering, you agree to comply with the conditions of carriage for animals in the cargo hold.

Does it cost anything to bring my service dog?

No, there are no additional fees for bringing a trained service dog.

What can I do if my dog is not accepted as a companion dog?

Your dog can travel in the cabin or in the hold. Please check the rules for animal transport in advance to ensure a safe and pleasant trip for your dog.

What do I need to bear in mind with late night check-in?

Please consider the following things if you want to use Condor's late night check-in:

Animals are only checked in on the day of departure.
Late night check-in does not apply to special flights.
All passengers must present identification.
An adult family member can check-in on behalf of others, whereby all fees and documents must be submitted.
Unfortunately, groups of ten or more people cannot use this service.
Non-traveling persons may check in for passengers, subject to the same conditions.
If you have used the late night check-in service, please arrive at the gate 45 minutes before departure.
For flights with other airlines, their regulations apply.
