Traveling with pets

Book your dog's or cat's transportation on Condor flights easily and conveniently online.

For safety reasons, we can only accept pets with a confirmed reservation and who are traveling with a booked passenger. The capacity for pets on board is limited. We can only allow one dog / cat per carrier.

Against harmful wildlife trade

Condor is committed to combating unsustainable and illegal wildlife trade, in accordance with CITES* regulations, and has a zero tolerance policy towards the transport of endangered and threatened species, hunting trophies (including legally hunted or legally acquired trophies) or other products associated with illegal wildlife activities, as carry-ons or checked baggage. Training is provided, in accordance with IATA guidelines for animal transport, which includes close scrutiny of documents and examination of transport containers.

Frequently asked questions

Are there specific regulations for transporting animals on connecting flights with other airlines?

Unfortunately, if the connecting flight is either incoming or outgoing (e.g., with Lufthansa or Alaska Airlines), animals cannot be transported in the cargo hold.

Can I take my pets on board a Condor flight?

Yes, you can take your pets with you, however there are a few things to keep in mind..

  • Book a flight for you and your dog or cat online up to 24 hours in advance. You will then receive an email confirmation.
  • The number of animals in the cabin is limited.
  • Your pet must be kept in a crate during the flight. The crate must comply with IATA regulations and must not be larger than carry-on baggage.
  • Combined, the crate and animal must weigh no more than 8 kg. Animals that are heavier than this must be accommodated in the cargo hold.

Can I transport my pet in the cargo hold when flying with Condor?

On direct flights, you can take pets with you in the aircraft hold. However, there are only limited places and certain rules apply.

  • The animals must be kept in a special crate that is safe and secure and which complies with IATA regulations.
  • You must specify the combined weight of the animal and the crate and the size of the box.
  • You must register the animal 48 hours before the flight.

Does it cost anything to bring my service dog?

No, there are no additional fees for bringing a trained service dog.

What can I do if my dog is not accepted as a companion dog?

Your dog can travel in the cabin or in the hold. Please check the rules for animal transport in advance to ensure a safe and pleasant trip for your dog.

What do I need to bear in mind with late night check-in?

Please consider the following things if you want to use Condor's late night check-in:

  • Animals can only be checked in on the day of departure.
  • Late night check-in does not apply to special flights.
  • All passengers are required to show identification.
  • An adult family member can check in on behalf of others, whereby all fees and documents must be submitted.
  • Unfortunately, groups of ten or more people cannot use this service.
  • Non-traveling persons may check in for passengers, subject to the same conditions.
  • If you have used the late night check-in service, please arrive at the gate 45 minutes before departure.
  • For flights with other airlines, their regulations apply.
