The Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz in Andalusia are two of southern Spain´s most attractive destinations for golfers. The Costa del Sol, often known as the "Costa del Golf," combines a wide choice of courses with Mediterranean scenery and a long-established golf culture.

Golfing gems: Start with the prestigious Real Club Valderrama, which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup and is one of the region's best-known courses. Nearby, Real Club de Golf Sotogrande offers a distinctive course designed by Robert Trent Jones, surrounded by mature vegetation and Mediterranean landscapes.

Tips for golf lovers: For another memorable round, consider Finca Cortesin Golf Club. Marbella's Golf Valley is also home to popular courses including Los Naranjos Golf Club and Aloha Golf Club, making it an excellent base for exploring several courses during one trip.

Travel insights: Away from the golf course, explore Andalusia's coastline and whitewashed villages such as Mijas Pueblo. Visit the historic city of Málaga, birthplace of Picasso, enjoy Spanish cuisine at local tapas bars or plan an excursion to the Alhambra in Granada, one of Spain's most celebrated historic landmarks.
