Additional Baggage
Allow yourself a little more space when packing! Easily book your additional baggage before you leave for the airport. Not only will you avoid higher costs for excess baggage at the check-in counter, but you will also travel with the peace of mind that you have everything you need with you.
The amount and weight of baggage you can take with you depends on your destination and selected fare. If you would like to take more baggage with you than is included in your fare, you can choose between various additional baggage allowances for your checked baggage.
For flight destinations 1 to 4 and 6, you can choose between 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg or 20 kg. For flights to the USA, Canada or Puerto Rico (flight destination 5), simply select an additional 1st or 2nd piece of baggage weighing up to 23 kg.
Book your additional baggage conveniently online after booking your flight or later via My Booking. You can book additional baggage up to 8 hours before departure and save up to 50 percent. This is because your excess baggage costs significantly more at the check-in counter at the airport.
Please note: If your additional baggage contains items that must be declared, these may have to be declared separately. Please refer to the Dangerous Goods page for more information and register your baggage via our Service Center.

Regulations for Flights Operated by Other Airlines
The amount of carry-on baggage you can take with you depends on your destination and the fare you have chosen.
The Economy Light fare includes a small bag as carry-on baggage. You can only book an additional piece of carry-on baggage in this fare up to 3 hours before departure via My Booking – from just US$13.00. It is not possible to add hand baggage to any other fares. However, if you are traveling with more hand baggage or if the maximum permitted weight is exceeded, we will charge a fee for extra baggage at the airport.

If your baggage exceeds the free baggage allowance included in your fare, you will be charged excess baggage fees at the airport. So plan ahead and travel relaxed without having to worry about additional costs at the airport. If you are traveling with more baggage than planned, take the opportunity to book additional baggage online up to 8 hours before your departure.
