Transporting Animals
Important Information on Transporting Animals
For security reasons, we can only accept animals with a confirmed reservation accompanied by a passenger with a reserved flight ticket. We will accept one pet per passenger in the cabin and/or in the cargo hold, provided we have enough available capacity.
As required under EU Regulation 998/2003, we can only transport dogs and cats within the EU if they are at least 4 months old; we can only transport dogs and cats from unlisted third countries to the EU if they are at least 7 months old. The transport of younger animals (8 weeks to 4 months old) in accordance with the exemption of the EU regulation is not permitted on Condor flights.
We cannot transport sick or injured animals or dogs and cats which either gave birth less than 48 hours before the flight or will probably give birth during the flight. Pets sedated by medication must respond when spoken to. Animals may only be transported in containers that comply with IATA Live Animals Regulations. The animal must be able to stand upright without its head or ears touching the top of the container. It must be able to turn around and to lie down in a natural position.
The container must have water and food dishes, and the container must be sturdy and clean with a waterproof floor and the bottom lined with absorbent material. Please note that our check-in agents may refuse to transport an animal if the container is too small or does not conform to IATA requirements.
You may bring dogs and cats weighing up to 6 kg (including container) into the cabin. The size of the container (ventilated and waterproof) may not exceed the dimensions specified for hand baggage. The animal should not be able to stick its head out of the container and is not permitted to be taken out during the flight. The container must be placed on the floor in the passenger's foot space.
Booking Transportation Online
Book your pet’s transportation on Condor flights easily and conveniently online, either right after you book your flight or at a later time via Extras.
Additional regulations may apply if you fly on airlines other than Condor, e.g. if feeder or connecting flights are operated by other airlines.
Transporting Animals Abroad
It is always the traveller’s responsibility to obtain all necessary information and documents regarding entry regulations, transit documents, veterinary health certificates, vaccinations, customs regulations in the destination country, etc. Please contact the embassy of the country you are visiting for information about import regulations, e.g. concerning vaccinations and identification documents.
A pet passport is required for dogs and cats being transported outside of Germany. The name of the owner entered in the pet passport must be identical to the passenger's name. The EU pet passport is valid in all member states of the EU and confirms that the animal has been vaccinated against rabies. Please be sure to obtain all information about the requirements and regulations for the country you intend to visit well in advance of your trip!
Animals may travel only if accompanied by a passenger, and they must be registered. Please note and follow the applicable entry requirements.
Information for travellers from/to Dubai and Sharjah: Please note that animals may not be transported in the cabin (PETC) or in the cargo hold (AVIH).
Special regulations apply outside the EU. Further information is available on the website of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and on the website of the German Federal Ministry of Finance - www.zoll.de.
Transportation in the Cabin
Please understand that in the interest of all passengers, we can only accept a limited number of small pets in the cabin and that the animal must remain in its closed container on the floor for the entire flight. The size of the carrier (ventilated and waterproof, lockable – available from pet shops) may not exceed the maximum hand baggage dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Dogs and cats are the only animals that can be transported. Birds, rabbits, hamsters, mice and guinea pigs may not be transported. Special reservations for transporting animals in the cabin can be made up to 8 hours prior to departure.
Transporting Animals in the Cargo Hold
Special animal carriers for transporting your dogs and cats can be obtained from larger German airports or from pet shops. They must be ventilated, waterproof and escape-proof. The following information is required for transporting an animal in the cargo hold: Weight of the animal, including the carrier, and the exact dimensions of the carrier. If a dog needs to be transported, we need to know the breed of the dog; we cannot transport the dog without this information. Special reservations for transporting animals in the cargo hold can be made up to 48 hours prior to departure.
Transporting Animals to Germany
If dogs or cats are brought to Germany for reasons of animal welfare, customers have to confirm with their signature that they have read and agree with the conditions and regulations of transport and carriage.

Pursuant to EU guidelines, an animal passport is mandatory. The service dog does not have to be kept in a transport container, but instead can travel together with the passenger. Please register the service dog as early in advance as possible. For safety reasons, a muzzle must be carried for the service dog.
