Hawaii’s most famous beach is without a doubt Waikiki Beach. The beach is named after a popular district where the streets are lined with countless hotels, restaurants and bars. If you prefer a quieter location, we recommend that you head to Hanauma Bay, Weimanalo Beach and Sunset Beach.

The ‘Iolani Palace

This grand building is reminiscent of the Hawaiian monarchy, which was dissolved in 1893. Visitors to the palace can view features such as a throne room, a state dining room and a library, either on a guided tour or by exploring the building on their own.

Pearl Harbor

The naval base of the US Marines became the focus of global attention when it was attacked by the Japanese Armed Forces during World War II. There is plenty to see in the harbour so we recommend that you plan at least half a day for your visit.

Diamond Head (Lēʻahi)

This tuff cone crater was formed by an eruption approximately 300,000 years ago and is approx. 230 metres tall. The area surrounding the crater offers a multitude of hiking trails, for example the Diamond Head Summit Trail, which takes around 1.5 hours to complete and offers stunning views stretching across O’ahu.

Honolulu is also a wonderful destination for shopping fans thanks to its virtually endless selection of malls, markets and shops. Our top tips are the Ala Moana Trading Center and the KCC Farmers’ Market.
