Mud Baths of Dalyan
This internationally renowned tourist attraction is a must do! The sulphur-rich waters are said to relieve rheumatism and skin conditions and the mud has alleged anti-ageing properties. In any case, a dip in the rather fragrant mud sure makes for some fun pictures!
The canyon is one of the deepest in the world at 300 meters and 18 km long. It is the result of thousands of years of flowing water. It is only walkable in the summer months; in the winter it is filled to the brim with icy cold mountain waters.
The Patara Beach is 18 kilometres, making it the largest in the region. The sand is fine and soft and the water clear as can be. Since Patara Beach is also an archaeological site with ruins of Roman temples, columns, and homes, you do need to pay a small entrance fee but it is definitely worth it.
Atlantis Marmaris Waterpark
If a full day of family fun is what you are looking for, be sure to visit this waterpark. Among the attractions are numereous waterslides, a kiddie pool, a wave pool, mini golf, bowling, and restaurants. Atlantis Marmaris Waterpark also has a private beach with complimentary sunbeds and umbrella rentals.
For a unique natural site, head to Mount Chimera within Olympos National Park. This peak has a number of vents that spew methane gas and subsequently fire. In ancient times this phenomenon was accredited to the Chimera, a massive lion-goat-snake create that lived here and breathed fire.
