Data Protection

Data protection declaration

1. Data Protection

The protection of personal data and subsequently your privacy is a matter we take very seriously.  As the operators of this internet website, Condor Flugdienst GmbH would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the data we save, how we use it and what it means for you when you use our personally-customized services.  In order to guarantee the greatest possible level of protection of your privacy, it a matter of course for us that we comply with data protection provisions in accordance with the German Federal Data Protection Legislation and its related laws.

Our websites can contain links to other websites to which the Data Protection Declaration does not extend.  We have no influence over whether the operators of such sites comply with the data protection provisions.

2. What information do we store and for what purpose?

Your personal data, such as name, address, mailing address, telephone number, etc., will be saved by us if you provide us with this information independently or it is required in order to process a query or reservation. By providing us with the abovementioned data, you agree to its being saved. Your data will be treated with the strictest of confidence in accordance with data protection regulations.

For example, if you agree to the use of your data for purposes of forwarding advertising and promotional offers to your address while making a reservation or taking out a newsletter subscription, we, or a company acting on our behalf entrusted specifically with the protection of your data within the framework of its data processing duties, will save and process the data provided to us for this purpose. Your data will not be passed to third-party companies which are not part of the corporate group.

When you access our website, we record data such as your IP address and other information, including date, time and retrieved pages. However, this information is not amalgamated with your personal data. We use this data in order to optimize our internet presence for your convenience.

We would also like to provide you with full information about the issue of online behavioral advertising. This Internet service collects and processes your browsing habits anonymously. You benefit as a user, because the advertising you receive is more in keeping with your interests, and overall, less randomly distributed advertising is delivered to you. A cookie is stored on your computer to record your browsing habits. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer's hard drive and are capable of recognition, but do not allow you to be personally identified.

The following company is responsible for collecting data for delivering online behavioral advertising on behalf of Condor Flugdienst GmbH:
mediascale GmbH & Co.KG

Information is recorded about your activities on websites operated by Condor Flugdienst GmbH (e.g. surfing behavior, subpages of the Internet sites, etc.). As, under current legislation, the possibility cannot be totally excluded that the collected data may permit an indirect personal reference, all the browsing data are stored using a pseudonym, so that personal identification is not possible. Although the IP address of your computer is submitted, this is for technical reasons and it is not saved, nor is it used to control which advertising is shown.

If you no longer wish to allow the relevant data to be collected, you can use the following link to opt out, and deactivate data gathering:

You can generally prevent cookies being stored on your hard drive by selecting "do not accept cookies" in your browser settings. You can also set your browser to ask whether you agree to the placement of cookies. Finally, you can also delete cookies that have been placed, at any time. For details of how all this works, please refer to the guide provided by your browser vendor. If you do not accept cookies, this may, in some cases, limit the functionality of the website.

Please note that if you clear your cookies, you will also have to reactivate the opt-out link.

3. Data Protection and General Provisions

The storage and processing of all personally-related data occurs in accordance with the German legal data protection provisions. Only such personal data is registered and forwarded to partners as are necessary for the transaction and completion of your journey.  These partners and our employees are obligated to maintain secrecy regarding such data.

For purposes of credit history inspection and creditworthiness monitoring and for marketing purposes, we maintain an exchange of data with other affiliated service provider companies and if applicable with external companies. Your protection concerns are taken into consideration by us in the process.

4. Revocation and the Right of Inspection

You can withdraw your consent for the further use of your personal data for advertising purposes and/or the forwarding of this data for advertising purposes by notifying abrechnung-cfi@condor.com (please note to make your request either in German or English). Upon receiving your objection, we will immediately discontinue sending any further advertising materials, and/or forwarding of your data for advertising purposes.

Transmission of information to government departments or agencies takes place only within the context of applicable statutory provisions. The U.S. Transportation Safety Authority requires all airlines flying into, out of, or through the United States to disclose the reservation data on every passenger. These data are used exclusively by U.S. customs officials for security purposes only.

Additional information for passengers traveling to the USA

You are entitled to receive information regarding the data stored in relation to your person upon request and free of charge. Furthermore, you have the right to the correction, deletion or blocking of your data. Under certain circumstances, legal provisions may prohibit the deletion of data for invoicing and accounting purposes. The data will be deleted to the extent and for as long as its storage is not required for the previously specified purposes.  Beyond this, you can object at anytime to the storage of your personal data.  Please direct your questions or inquiries to abrechnung-cfi@condor.com (please note to make your request either in German or English).

5. Information Regarding our Offers and Services

We would like to inform you occasionally about our offers and services and those of our partners, and use your personal data for this purpose.  If you do not wish for us to do so, you can inform us of your objection at the address specified above.

You will receive our Newsletter only after actively providing us with your consent.  If you wish at some point for us to discontinue sending you our Newsletter, you can use the link, “Newsletter abbestellen” (‘Cancel Newsletter’) that is contained in every Newsletter to do so.

6. Data Security

Condor Flugdienst GmbH has undertaken the technical and organizational measures necessary to protect the personal data provided by you from loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorized access.

We use the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encoding technology in order to arrange for the transfer of data between your web browser and our internet system in a secure fashion.

7. Using cookies/use of Google Analytics

We use cookies on our website.
Cookies are text files that the browser stores on your hard drive. This data has information about which websites you have visited and the advertisements you have seen. But cookies never allow personal data, such as your name, address, e-mail address, etc., to be identified. Cookies are used by site operators on the Internet to check, for example, whether you are entitled to view the requested website information.

There is no specific setting to make in your browser to allow cookies to be stored on your computer. It is a default setting for your browser to accept cookies and store them, for example, in a directory called "Temporary Internet Files", as they do not pose a security risk.

If you do not want Condor Flugdienst GmbH and their associated partners to use cookies, you must deactivate this function in your browser. For more information, see your browser's help dialog.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis tool from Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", the text files stored on your computer that make it possible to analyze the use you make of the website. The information the cookie generates about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities for the website operator, and to provide other services associated with website and Internet use. Google may also share this information with third parties, if required to do so by law, or if the third parties are processing this data on behalf of Google. Google will never link your IP address with other data held by Google. You can stop cookies being installed by making a relevant setting in your browser software; however, we must point out that this may mean that you cannot make full use of all the functions of this website. By using this website, you consent to the data Google has collected about you being processed in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose.

You can opt out at any time, so that data will no longer be collected and stored in future. The following plug-in may be used for this purpose:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Our website uses the Google Analytics anonymity function. IP addresses are then only stored and processed in abbreviated form, so that data cannot be traced back to a specific individual.

8. Using Facebook plugins

Plugins for the social network facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook), are used on these webpages.

If you access a webpage on our website that has one of these plugins, a link is established to the Facebook servers, and a message to your browser displays the plugin on the webpage. This allows the Facebook server to identify which of our webpages you visited. If you are logged in as a member of Facebook, this information is assigned to your personal Facebook user account. If you use the plugin functions (e.g. click the "Like" button, or make a "Comment"), this information is also assigned to your Facebook account, and the only way to stop this is to log out before you use the plugin.

For more information on how Facebook collects and uses the data, on your rights in this respect and on possible ways to protect your individual privacy, see Facebook's data privacy policy.
